Finalist artwork to commemorate Signal Hill. The steel sculpture had three components: Raising Smoke, relating to the signals send by local Indians; Oil Derrick, to remind the oil discovery during the 1920’s; and The Hut, as a symbol of habitat by the indigenous population.
